This unit introduced the three time frames and 12 tenses used in the English language, focusing on the present tenses (simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous). For each of the tenses the unit first introduced the proper construction of the form, then gave general guidelines on conjugation, followed by the correct usage and sentence examples.
One of the most interesting points of this unit was the incite that unlike most Asiatic or even Slavic languages, English has a multitude of tenses that can be confusing even to native speakers, to say nothing of those learning English as a second language. Therefore for students of English it is important to remember that studying tenses will require dedication, practice and patience.
