In this topic, I learned the different theories and methodologies in ESL teaching (Grammar-translation, Audio-lingualism, PPP, Task-Based Learning, CLT, CLL, The silent way, Suggestopaedia and The Lexical appproach). It helped me a lot because it gave me ideas what methodologies to apply in the future that would suit my students and their learning needs (considering its pluses and minuses). My favorite topic was the ESA (Engage, Study and Activate) sample lessons. I had been creating lesson plans from my previous teaching job, and it was always my struggle to come up with better activities for motivation and lesson proper. From this topic, I learned how to make ESA lesson plan and even gave me more better activities in each stage. I still believe that behind every excellent teacher is a well-planned ESA lesson plan and effective strategy.
