Majority of the information I learned from this unit came from the example of a receptive lesson using ESA model. However, I did find it amusing when the lesson provided an example of how "Bear destroy Cowboys" may be taken out of context for students learning English for the first time. This made me realize that context plays an important role in teaching a lesson. Furthermore, I agree that lessons should be catered to the interests of all students if possible. I value the idea of teaching difficult vocabulary before proceeding a lesson. There are many times during my high school Spanish class that I would get loss in the lesson because I didn't understand the vocabulary. Furthermore, I would've thought authentic English material should be use until reading that this material might hinder their confidence.
