Unit 7 primarily focuses on when and how to introduce new vocabulary, grammar and functions. The unit begins with providing useful guidelines related to the introduction of new vocabulary. The selection of vocabulary, what students need to know about a vocabulary item, and useful techniques for vocabulary teaching are all clearly summarized. This is followed up by sample methods which could be used during the Engage / Study / Activate phases of a lesson. The same format is used for introducing grammatical structures, however this time alternative lesson formats such as a 'patchwork' or 'boomerang' type lesson is laid out in detail. Last but not least, the task sheet given at the end of the unit provides TEFL students with a useful opportunity to answer and make sure that they are clear about the most important points related to the unit.
