Being an native English speaker, it is often easy to forget the intricacies and more difficult concepts of the English language. Subtleties and other rules that we are adapt to using may not come as easy to someone who is learning the language for the first time. There are many exceptions to the English langauge that we grow up with simply by practicing and constantly hearing the language in our country. Countable nouns, uncountable nouns, nouns that can be both countable or an uncountable noun depending of the context of the sentence. This can all be incredibility overwhelming to a non native speaker. During this unit, even I a native English Language speaker, did not realize that my normal speech contained a multitude of rules and exception that naturally come to me. While studying the unit it labeled the importance of the English language and reminded me of the challenges that a non native English speaker will face when learning this language.
