This unit covers several different aspects of the English language describing both their regular and irregular uses. This includes nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, infinitives, verb forms, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions. The descriptions given are very basic in nature thus offering a brief overview of what each of these topics are about. While brief, the descriptions are very targeted and allow the reader to have a good understanding of the topic. I found the sections on adverbs and gerunds the most helpful. Even as a native English speaker, these two topics have always confounded me a bit. Now I know that adverbs add meaning to the action of the sentence and can describe manner, place, time, degree, and frequency. Gerunds are the -ing form of a verb that turns it into a noun. Overall, I found this chapter really helpful.
