.Unit 12,we get a discussion upon productive skills of language-speaking and writing.As receptive skills,productive skills are essential elements for learning as well.Though writing and speaking skills are substantially different,they both are used for communication purposes.According to some teachers,writing isn't as much important as speaking,they're been relegated to housework."Speaking" is focused much more than writing in tjis unit.Speaking skills are based upon accuracy and fluency of language,while accuracy is contented with study stage and fluency with activated stage.Accuracy skills comes upon drilling and prompting continuously upon target language and fluency comes up with role-playing,discussion,debate,group-work etc.There are certain reasons students may feel reluctant to speak in a class,reasons are lack of confidence,fear of making mistakes,peer intimidation,cultural reasons,lack of interest in the topic etc.Teachers may follow some activities to overcome the reasons,such as pair work,group work,careful planning,making the speaking activity purposeful and practising controlled and guided teaching before fluency.A teacher can also follow certain laws for the creativity of a speaking class.Suppose,before the lesson ,he/she should be aimed upon the topic,working out instructions,prepare necessary materials.And during the class,,he/she might set-up the activity,make sure the students have enough time to prepare,arouse students interest through visual,in talk or by a newspaper,not to react or correct students mistakes in a sudden,only try to process rather than product,particularly with role-playing.In the writing chapter,the students are supposed to practice and elicit over spelling,handwriting,punctuation rather than pronounciation and need to drill continuously.Gaming in the classroom may be also a good option as a practising element of approaching productive skills.Such games like twenty questions,connect-4,crosswords,jeopardy,pictionary,twister may be effective as warmer in the activate stage of the lesson.
