Unir 18 covers modals, phrasal verbs, passive voice, and relative clauses. Straightaway the unit begins by defining the grammar rules of modal auxiliary verbs and the ideas that they can be used to express: obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability, advice. A very useful descriptive chart is laid out on page 2 and 3 followed by clever examples and thoughtful teaching ideas. On page 5 the unit begins to cover the passive voice by explaining the difference between the active and the the passive. The grammatical passive forms are laid out nicely in a chart, the usages are clearly explained, and teaching ideas are given. The last part of the unit covers relative clauses and phrasal verbs and begins by explaining the differences between the three categories of clauses and provides examples of each to help clarify. Phrasal verbs are defined as well as the definitions of the three types.
