This course gave some good practical tips on materials for the classroom. Then it broke down some of the materials into categories such as created and authentic materials. I would say even textbooks fall into the category of an authentic material, as it is not something you create and it has it's advantages for use especially when you are teaching in a school when you have a curriculum that must be followed and used by other teachers so that there is continuity. Hopefully some of the texts and resources do have some personalization to where you are teaching, for example, my English books in HK have a section called, "I love Hong Kong." But I still plan to supplement and change some of the activities to match some of the other school activities.
