Unit 9 covers lesson planning beginning with why writing lesson plans covers an array of important functions such as: an aid to planning, a working document, and a long term record of what has been done. The unit continues by offering suggestions as to how lesson plans should be written down, the importance of being organized, what should be included, and so on. The unit also provides a detailed example of a well written lesson plan, as well as several templates that could be used in the future by TEFL students for writing lesson plans. The unit also makes future teachers aware of the importance of monitoring their lesson so as to know their own strengths and weaknesses and through this self-evaluation learn how to become better more effective language instructors. Additionally, the unit included advice on how to plan out a series or sequence of lessons to make sure that flexibility is maintained, goals are met, revisions are possible, and a balanced variety is offered. However, this unit did not provide a lot of useful information related to answering the unit's test questions which made this unit the least enjoyable unit to be studied thus far.
