I have always thought that it is important for language learners to know each and every word in any conversation but this unit provided me with new insights of letting students be comfortable in understanding texts without knowing each and every word. I now realise that everything is about balance. Receptive skills are certainly a killer for most language learners as unlike vocabulary, receptive skills are more fluid and need more efforts. This unit provided the teacher with ideas on how to tackle this area which is really helpful for me.
