The unit summarized many basic communication techniques of the teacher, such as eye contact, gestures, and voice. By using the techniques, teachers can make the classroom environment more comforting and efficient. In addition, the unit provided some basic ways of grouping students to use during the classroom. The outcomes vary; however, a skilled teacher will know when to use the groupings for a desired outcome. For example, pair-work allows the students to share ideas amongst each other. At the same time, the teachers are able to focus attention on the pair. Classroom arrangement also influences the ambience of the learning environment. I learned about the different factors that should be taken into consideration when deciding an arrangement.
