Unit 7 is a reflection of learning new language-vocabularies,grammar and functions.Whatever and however a classroom is managed by a teacher,students are supposed to do four things with new languages.Firstly be exposed to it,understanding it's meanings and constructions,and finally be able to practice and produce.Vocabularies and functions are the aspects of grammatical structuresstructure,beauties and varieties.The most effective method is the ESA for learning vocabularies,grammar and functions.Lessons that are targeted to grammar and vocabularies are based on straight arrow ESA while boomerang"and "patchwork" ESA methodologies are appropriate for the functions of language.Though these rules are not mandatory and a teacher will think which technique will be effective in which stage of lesson.There are different steps and procedures whilst teaching vocabularies,grammar and even functions.In the vocabulary section,students initially need to select vocabularies,know it's items and finally apply techniques-the straight arrow ESA.Though the grammatical lessons commonly follow the straight arrow ESA methodology,a typical patchwork ESA can also be applied to the mid-level students with learning objects.As well as vocabulary and grammars,language consists of functions which are most effectively used with a boomerang or patchwork type ESA lesson and certainly Role-plays are mostly activated here.
