The unit covered a number of general teaching methodologies as well as specific classroom activities that teachers can use during various phases of the lesson. In particular the unit focused on the stages of Engage, Study and Activate, the goal and general content of each of these stages, how these may be arranged into different class formats, and what to consider for each stage. Basically, however the class ultimately turns out, there should be some time for warm-up, review, brainstorming, playful engagement and that kind of thing, some time for drill or new material or more rigorous learning activities, and some time for usage, practice or active sharing and creative usage of what has been learned. Additionally, the unit covered a number of ideas for specific class activities that teachers can use to structure class and interactive with students during these three class phases. Finally, the unit gave some good advice for giving feedback and making corrections to students, such as the difference between teacher corrections and student self-corrections.
