The first video was quite painful to watch as the teacher made mistakes and continued to confuse the students throughout the lesson. The teacher’s attitude towards the class was not particularly helpful and the students were confused and discouraged. The teacher was also using terms that are not easy to understand and did not simplify anything when he attempted to explain what he was trying to say.
The second video gave a better glimpse of what should be done in the classroom. I like that the teacher was more open and friendlier towards the class. This was evident by the way he speaks, his choice of words and gestures to the students. I think it is important to always have a positive attitude when teaching as in has a great impact on your students. Sometimes, it might become the only saving grace of the lesson. The teacher in this lesson also explained using simple words that were easily understood by the class. Not only that, but the constant repetition and checks done by the teacher helped the students who may not have understood the initial instruction check their own comprehension. The strategies used in this class were shown effective in teaching the students. However, I would like to have seen the lesson plan intended for both lesson as it will enable me to see if the objectives set before the lessons were met.
