This unit contained examples of two lessons in live classroom scenario. The first lesson was a clear example of what not to do. It was painful to watch and I honestly could not make it through the entire video. The instructor had no respect for his students as learners. He felt like he was dropped in the classroom and was filling in with no training or concept of what he was doing. When watching the second video I was able to get a clear concept of how an excellent instructor would work in a classroom setting. He engaged with his students by being in the classroom before the came in, getting their names, eliciting answers by using their names. Unlike in the first video his notes were available but not in his hands and therefore were not distracting. He was patient with the students, waited for their responses, and didn't say no or put them down when their answer was incorrect. In the second lesson he had fun with the students. He used their responses to prompt him later on.
The other thing I noted is that he took no minor detail for granted. When building a sentence, he used the opportunity show that an "a" gets added in and teach the pronunciation of restaurant vs the spelling of it.
