Unit 4 talks about the present tenses and I learned that the English language has many more tenses than most other languages do. English has 12! The unit began by explaining the tense system and broke down the differences between Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, and Present Perfect Continuous. The unit is very useful in that it provides clearly written explanations for common usages as well as typical student errors or mistakes. The task portion of the unit provides well though out exercises where recently studied information can quickly be put to use in an overall review of the unit. Most useful of all, the unit provides useful ideas on activities to give to students during the activate stage of a lesson. For example, a very useful exercise to provide students learning how to use present perfect continuous would be to have the students survey the class and find out who has been doing what the longest, which is a fun and useful way to put a difficult grammar tense into practice.
