The unit had a great overview on the exams that can be taken to assess their English language. In a common learning environment, the diagnostic test, progress test, and practice tests are given throughout in order to ensure the students are receiving the appropriate level of lessons. This allows the institutions to place students according to their goals and English level. In my opinion, this creates a better classroom environment because groups consisting of similar levels of students allow a more efficient flow of class. In addition, the motivations of students and goals to receive a good score on external exams will guide the direction of which topics to cover throughout the lessons.
