This unit delved into the use of the past tense of the English language. Though this unit, I was presented with three different tenses commonly used and one although uncommon, still as important. The past tense is very similar to the present tense in terms of having a simple, perfect, continuous and perfect continuous form. Once the student learns the present tense, learning the past tense appears to be easier, but there are still many differences associated with the past tense. For example, the uses in which past tense is needed, or if there are certain exceptions to the rule that cannot be learned through the context of the sentence. Tenses can be confusing and difficult, and through the unit I learned how to simplify and break down the learning off the past tense to the non native english learner.
