This unit discussed different teaching techniques and strategies to use in the classroom. There was a range of strategies presented with brief descriptions as well as some pros/cons to the type of strategy. The lesson went into detail about the teaching strategy of ESA which stands for Engage, Study, Activity. This form of teaching has proven to be the most successful because it is able to recreate in a sense the organic way people learn new languages. There is a lot of classroom discussion and communication techniques between the students and the teacher is there more as a guide through the mistakes and technicalities of the language. There was a list of different ways to engage and different kinds of activities at the end of the lesson that I feel will be very helpful when working in my classroom.
