This unit is about the two receptive skills which are Reading and Listening. The main reasons to use those skills are for a purpose ( To read a list a ingredients to make a recipe, by example) or for entertainment purpose ( to read a book by pleasure, by example). Many things can disturb our reading like the fact that new learner often read each words individually so it is hard for them to get the idea of the text. As for the Listening, a new accents can make it harder for students to understand.
