Although I have learned how to properly speak, read, and write English throughout my lifetime I haven't given much thought to the rules of grammar. In this unit I have learned the simple breakdown of a sentence. I have learned how to classify different parts of speech in a sentence. I have learned how to classify parts of a sentence as follows; noun, adjective, article, verb, adverb, gerund, pronoun, preposition, & conjunction. I have learned how to further classify different types of articles such as definite article or indefinite article. I have also learned the main types of nouns, for example a proper noun always starts with a capitol letter such as the name "Mickey Mouse". I now have the ability to understand the words I am speaking! This unit will no doubt improve my ability to teach the English language.
