I learnt that teaching pronunciation is important. I have never learnt the phonetic symbols when I was learning English in school so this unit was an eye-opener for me. I realised that pronunciation is not so easy to teach or learn accurately. Therefore, a lot of time, patience and repeated practice are necessary, especially when it comes to ESL students who may not have as much chance to practise speaking English outside the classroom. The video attached to this unit was really helpful to me because I could observe how the teacher made it easier for the students to learn pronunciation.
