This unit highlights the vast number of teaching resources available to teachers. Selecting the right type teachings aids can help ensure that the lessons are efficient in motivating and encouraging students. Such teaching aids include white or blackboards, interactive whiteboards(IWBs), overhead projectors (OHPs), visual aids, worksheets, work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos and DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers, computers and online resources. There are other less conventional teaching aids such as literature, poetry and media. These slightly more unconventional teaching aids would have better use in an advanced level class rather than a lower or average level class. For new young learners, visuals aids would be more effective in attracting and maintaining their attention during lessons.
