This unit helps to identify the various future tenses and the similarities of using the 'going to' future tense, present simple tense as well as present continuous tense. The future simple tense indicates actions in the future. The future continuous indicates an action in progress at a particular time in the future. The future perfect tense indicates an action in the future that will be completed by a point in the future. The future perfect continuous tense indicates how long an action had been taking place up until a certain point in the future. The 'going to' future tense is similar to the present continuous tense but is differentiated via structure as it is always followed by a verb. The teaching ideas for the various tenses are rather fun and involve quite a bit of communication and discussion on the part of the students. The activities are simple enough for beginner level students and can be easily modified to suit advanced level students.
