The following unit was specifically addressed to the importance of productive skills : speaking and writing. As I mentioned in the previous unit content , these two skills are connected to the other two , receptive skills : reading and listening . Compared to the receptive skills , productive skills are more based on the correct writing/spelling and pronunciation of the language.
There are different dialects to be easy confused , by either having the same spelling and different pronunciation , either being pronounced the same and having different spelling or meaning. This part of the language to me, is the most challenging at the same time needed for English grammar . Accuracy and fluency are the tools teachers need to work with when teaching the proper language to the students. The difference between these terms is , that the fluency is based on free creativity and listening ,uncontrolled by teachers , where accuracy is going to be controlled by the teacher for making sure that the students are learning the correct writing and spelling of the language .
To achieve a successful pronunciation and of course the proper spelling of English grammar ,the most known method is by reading as many books as posible, including books written in British English .
This way, many of the students , also referring to teachers and myself , will be able to distinguish the dialects between the two countries, which are puzzled for ages till this day which one of the two is the correct and incorrect spelling and pronunciation of English language . However, British English it was and it is considered more formal and proper then American English.
