This unit is mainly about how to teach the receptive skills which include the reading and the listening . For the four types of English skills which include the listening , reading,speaking and writing , all of which have the equal importance. For the receptive skills we should pre-teach difficult vocabulary or structure , build interest before reading and listening , choose interest and suitable material to motivate the student. For the reading , depending on different purpose we teach them using different reading skills like : skimming ,scaning,detail information reading . In my future reading or listening class, first I will try to find some interesting topic and the material should suitable to my student level . Second , I will do some pre-teach if nessary . Additionally, I will do the study , activate phase with them as well. This unit does give me a lot of good instructions which i can appply in my future teaching .
