I liked the fact that as teachers teaching English as a second language, we need to be careful when and when not to correct our students. This was mentioned before in earlier units but to see these writing and speaking ESA lessons in this unit has helped me to concretely know when and when not to issue out corrections. The Activate phase of the lesson provides a comfortable place for the students to speak freely using English. I like that it builds confidence in the student if they use it, even if it's not entirely correct. Teaching writing is also very difficult. I tend to be a person who can be pretty strict when it comes down to writing a lot of the times. I like the use of creative writing or free writing. The student is given more freedom to be more informal.
