I absolutely loved this chapter. It was a good review on ESA which I struggled on the boomerang form on ESA. By giving explicit examples that could fit into each phase has helped me to have a better understanding how I can use it in any classroom. Bit by bit I'm getting a better understanding of the type of activities that are appropriate for which subject.
Language functions is something that we use everyday but to get an in-depth understanding on this topic in particular was something I never thought of as a subject in itself. I learned that this is essentially (how to use and when to use) the language. When do we use formal language or informal language is something that is important for speakers and writers to know.
