The lesson helped me to understand how many different ways there are to ask permission and also the degrees of importance that can be expressed in English. I can see how this could be very confusing for students. Not only does it have to do with the tone of your voice but also the word you choose such as might, may, must, etc. With regards to phrasal verbs a point I want to remember is to teach them like vocabulary and keep track of the phrasal verbs learned so I can use them in class for review.
