This unit introduces the student to the basics of what makes good students and teachers, the roles of the teacher, characteristics of students and how they may play a role in the students learning process, lastly the levels of english proficiency are described. From this unit I learned what I must do to become a good teacher and how to play my roles. I also gained insight into what my students may be like and how their individual characteristics may shape their learning. I also learned how to categorize students based on their level of proficiency in the English language.
