This unit concentrated on evaluation and testing. I learned that there are several tests that teachers implement to learn where student language abilities stand. Placement tests are used at the start to place students in the correct classes based on their level of understanding. Diagnostic tests are very similar to placement tests with the exception of being more extensive and it helps the teacher prepare lessons to help the students work on their areas of difficulty. Progress tests are used periodically to access what language has been remembered and what has been forgotten. Practice tests are given to prep the student for the external examination test they are preparing for.
