I've learned about the different methodologies and which levels of students they work best with, and when to utilize them. I've learned the different ESA styles, and which are appropriate for a new teacher and which levels of English they work best on for each class. I've learned a variety of games are effective as well as flashcards etc.Elicitation is extremely important, and often the students should have as much time possible using the new learned language actually speaking it amongst themselves, and when I should just monitor and observe, also when to correct them and how.A positive, encouraging and relaxed atmosphere in the classroom helps build students interest as well.
