The first unit of Teaching Business English course introduces students of its content and what exactly they are about. There are 6 units: course introduction, teaching and learning, materials, teaching themes,course development, business English world and after that summative task.It gives some ideas how this course works and how to work through it step by step. We learn from this unit about target groups(students who have already completed TEFL course) aims and objectives. There are necessary abbreviations which students should know, for example, ESP( Teaching of English for Specific Purposes),TESOL(Teaching if English to Speakers of Other Languages),FTBE(Further certificate for teachers of Business English)etc. The unit explains what ESP means more precisely and give us some examples of it: Medical English, English for Law, etc.
I have learned from this unit what are the prospects of teaching Business English, it gave me some ideas how much you might earn and how many hours employers might dedicate to teach in companies. I think it's really important to know about all employment opportunities.
