I found that this was the unit that really went into detail about how normal ESL teaching methodologies can be applied to the Business English context.
This unit was very methodical and structured. It began with the first step, which was to develop a diagnostic test before going on to the needs analyses and lesson planning.
I also learnt something new about the various types of tests and the different ways to reference the test. I was initially confused by the difference between diagnostic and placement test, but from my experiences in learning other languages, it became clearer to me that the content in placement tests are limited to only what's required at that particular level, while a diagnostic test covers a larger area to include even things that the student might not know.
The development of the course and lesson plan was also presented in a clear and structured method and this would be something I would steal for my Business English classes in future.
