This unit was useful in learning tips about how to deal with first classes. It was pleasant to discover that I was using these tips by instinct but now it's all clear exactly how to approach my first classes, how to deal with the warmers, with the groups where students are at varying levels, how to deal with large classes and that is very important because I will no longer work in training centers with 6 to 10 kids per class after this course is accomplished. The use of the native language was already clear to me, it was nice to read exactly when the students are allowed to make an exception and how that exception is useful both for student and the teacher. Dealing with reluctant students was also important to clarify and also dealing with the difficulty in listening texts, this is something I already knew because I studied Chinese and I had classes especially for listening skills training so I found out that is very useful to apply that experience to my own teaching English to Chinese students.
