In this unit, we review some basic grammar commonly taught in EFL classes. First, we take a look at modal auxiliary verbs. 'Modals' are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verbs. Then, we go over passive voice. The object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb, changing the focus of the sentence. Relative clauses are dependent clauses that modify a noun either by describing, identifying, or giving further information about the noun. Last but not least we take a look at the three basic types of phrasal verbs.
