The units on verb tenses are somewhat difficult due to the fact that grammar is not often taught to this degree in most American schools. Most of my English grammar was learned in my journalism and Spanish classes. Knowing the correct form to use in English is not the same as knowing the structure well enough to teach it. My understanding of the past tenses and how to form them was easier once I had learned the present tenses. However, some of the examples in the unit test were confusing and reminded me that I to go back and study some of the examples of why the tense is used. I really like that examples of exercises for the Activate stage are given. I remember that these types of activities were the most helpful when learning a second language.
