There are nine major auxiliary verbs depending on the usage. The major usage modal auxiliary verbs are: ability, advice, deduction, obligation, offer, permission, possibility, prediction, prohibition, promise, and request. They are used to express the speakers feeling or attitude. There are also true modal auxiliary verbs; will/would, should/shall, might/may/must, and can/could. Active/passive usages include: unknown agent, unimportant agent, change focus, and to conceal agent. If the passive sentence is written for example in present continues you swap the object and subject around and change the verb "to be", no matter what tense the sentence can not change tenses.
