This Unit has taught me different theories, methods, and techniques to apply when teaching English to students of different levels. From all of the different methodologies, such as the Grammar-translation, the Audio-lingualism, the PPP, Task-Based Learning, The silent way, the Suggestopedia etc, the approach that has been proven to be the most effective is the Engage, Study and Activate. This method gives the teacher a great deal of flexibility in the classroom and helps the students be absolutely involved in the lesson since elicitation is one of the most important features of an EFL lesson. I have also learned multiple tasks and examples of elicitation techniques (flashcards, drawings, asking questions, gap-filling, lists, follow-on questions, mime, definitions) and without a doubt the most important take away for me has been the number of different ideas to carry out an engaging and good ESA lesson, classified by stages.
I have also come to understand the importance of a good feedback and some methods to develop a better ability to correct and praise the students.
