Over the years on personally being in school, l was not a fan of learning straight from the text. When the students are taught straight from the book, the class gets boring and students become unengaged quickly. It is tough to get them to want to focus when the lesson is boring. The best way, which is shown in this unit it to use different types of authentic materials. Yes, there will be times when you need to use the book for a lesson but I find it best to throw in some sort of fun activity just so book work doesn't seem so tiresome.
