This unit covered textbooks and supplementary materials. I learned the importance of incorporating materials like real videos, newspapers, and magazines in a lesson. It does in fact, give students more confidence in their language of study because they are interacting with things they would encounter in the real world. Teachers that create their own materials to supplement or replace textbook materials have the advantage of catering specifically to their students as opposed to a general audience.
