This unit gives us two examples of why teacher's attitude is so vital for the actual learning to happen in a classroom. Although the material being taught is the same, the outcome for the students appear to be much different. After watching the first video, we can conclude that students need clear instructions, friendly encouragement, peer interactions, established routines, as the teacher seems to be doing the opposite of those. The second video shows us the more positive approach to teaching, and how it helps to maximize the learner's participation. It was very useful for me to observe the monitoring techniques from the second video, especially during the activate phase.
