This unit focused on the productive skills of teaching and writing. In relation to speech, accuracy and fluency are of equal importance. Accuracy is usually a part of the study phase and fluency is usually a part of the activate phase. Language is controlled by the teacher in accuracy based lessons. Creative communication implies fluency based activities, which usually means the scenarios are usually created by the teacher but the content of the language isn't. A few techniques to encourage interaction are; pair and group work, careful planning, and controlled and guided practice.
