Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

The last unit is about troubleshooting problems in class. The lesson goes over the difficulties and helpful suggestions for certain areas in the classroom. The unit covers first lessons, warm-ups, different level students, large classes, the use of their native language, reluctant students, and the difficulties with listening texts. In the first lesson, a teacher is trying to establish rapport with their classes, so using the course book is uncalled for. Teachers should find out about their students, their needs and aspirations with English, as well as their English level. There are a number of activities to use, some of them are questionnaires, Pass the Ball game, or a needs analysis. Warmers should be short, fun, communicative activities to get them motivated for the lesson. Teachers can use Hangman, Pictionary, or memory games as warmer ideas. There are a number of ways for teachers to handle different English levels in the class. Some of them is partnering the strong with the weak, using different materials, or using the same materials with different tasks. Large class can be difficult to handle, but using worksheets and pair/group work helps. Being clear and using choral repetition can help create a successful class. Students can resort to use of their native language if they are confused or bored, so avoiding those situations are necessary. So teachers must use activities at an appropriate level, explanations and directions are clear, only respond in English, and make the class interesting! There will be students who are reluctant to join in the class so pair work, role-play, or controlled practices can help them. There can be difficulties with listening texts, but the teacher should make sure the problem is with the material and not their students receptive skills.
