In Unit 15, we look at the importance and the different ways of evaluating a student's level and progress. There are 3 methods discussed in this lesson, which are tutorials, evaluations performed by the students themselves, and tests.
There are various types of tests, which are outlined below:
- Placement tests help the teacher understand the level of a student in order to place them in the correct class according to their level.
- Diagnostic tests are given at the beginning of the year and provide the teacher with more insight as to each student's level in order to plan accordingly and adapt the lessons.
- Progress tests are given out regularly throughout the year to understand what the students have learned. This also helps the teacher adapt the lessons according to the level.
- Practice tests help the students prepare for the actual examination they wish to take.
