This unit laid out what is meant by "receptive skills" in the context of language, listed the reasons one might have for utilizing these skills, what special skills one might use while reading or listening, and potential problems you might encounter teaching these skills to students. Finally it gave an example of a patchwork ESA lesson intended to teach receptive skills. I feel that the main things I took away from this unit was the "specialist skills" used when reading/listening, and potential problems that students might face when trying to improve their proficiency in these areas.
