This chapter provides a helpful overview of various methods of assessing student skills. It includes internal tests such as placement, diagnostic and periodic progress tests, as well as external exams such as the TOEFL, IELTs, and TOEIC. It also gives an introduction to the various levels of Cambridge Assessment Certificates. I was not familiar with these Cambridge levels before, so this overview has given me at least a familiarity with the terms.
