The video unit was very interesting. The unit provided two videos of an ESL lesson with very different vibes. The first showed a seemingly unprepared instructor who mumbled through much of the lesson with students who looked confused for much of it. The second video showed-cased an instructor who seemed more open and prepared for the class and the students participated and did well. After watching both videos, I've come to realized there are a few things an instructor must do to ensure a good class. The instructor must come prepared and on time. It is also important for the instructor to familiarize themselves a little with the students before jumping right into a lesson. This puts the students at ease. Having items prepared on the board is important because it reduces the time the back is towards the students and helps with the flow of the class. Preparing examples and engaging activities is key to making sure the students get the point or topics of the class. Asking the same question over and over with no success from the students should be noted and other ways need to be used.
