This unit taught me the significant differences between the different types of materials. Previously I did not know that there was a difference between authentic and created materials. While I have used both types of materials in class I had never realized the specific advantages and disadvantages of each type of material. In my classes, I have been relying heavily on created material and less on authentic material. After reading the advantages to authentic material I want to try and incorporate more into my lessons.
